I have been an unintentional nomad since moving to the USA. I am now excited to call Chicago home! Prior to this position, I was a research scholar in the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University where I directed the Princeton Human Computer Interaction Laboratory. Before my stint in New Jersey, I was an assistant professor at the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park where I directed the NetCHI laboratory. In the past, I also completed two post-doctoral research fellowships at ResearchICTAfrica in Cape Town, South Africa and with Prof. W. Keith Edwards at the College of Computing at  Georgia Institute of Technology. I received my Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Institute of Technology where I was advised by Prof. Rebecca E. Grinter. I started my journey in the USA after I completed my MSc., BSc.(Hons), and BSc. in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town, South Africa (my beautiful home country).
